First Defeat

lol. dont provoke stevie ar.

"If you'd told me five minutes after the final whistle against Marseille at Anfield we'd go into the last game knowing a win would secure our qualification, I'd have bitten your hand off at that offer," said the skipper.

wth. damn sux lo. how did liverpool lose to reading la?!?!?!? first defeat lehx!! nothing to be honoured about lo!! seriously the idiotic referee was super duper bias. how can he gave penalty to reading when carragher fouled outside the box? why wasnt torres given a penalty when it was obviously a fouled on him inside the box? liverpool was denied 2-3 penalties can?? and stevie was the only guy who received a yellow card when he sort of confronted the referee for the 2 penalties denied after he fouled. benitez gave up the match at around 70+ min lo. when he substitued stevie out, stevie was so unhappy that he threw the armband on the ground instead of handing it to carragher personally which he usually does. stupid referee who should be demoted or even sack. idiot.

match report:

17:17 GMT : Match Starts
1 min : Reading kick-off the match attacking the goal to the right of the dugouts.
2 mins : Voronin flicks on for Torres but Reading clear the danger.
4 mins : Hobbs gets his first interception in and is unlucky not to release Torres with a sweeping pass. Good start for the youngster.
5 mins : The home crowd are up for this one but there's no doubt they'll be no match for the travelling Kop!
7 mins : It's a bit scrappy out there. The ball is in the air a lot and there have been quite a few free-kicks.
8 mins : The Reds have their first chance but Torres fires straight at the keeper.
9 mins : Liverpool are beginning to dominate.
10 mins : The home crowd are unhappy with a Gerrard challenge. Just get on with it!
11 mins : Reading are hitting a number of high balls early on while Liverpool are trying to release Torres at every opportunity.
12 mins : A poor lay off by Momo prevents the Reds from taking advantage of an impressive break.
13 mins : A great ball in by Gunnarsson is well defended by Hobbs. Corner to Reading.
14 mins : Not the best piece of defending but we got away with it.
15 mins : Reading have a penalty. Jamie Carragher bringing down Gunnarsson.
16 mins : It looked well outside the box though! (EXACTLY)
17 mins : Penalty Scored! Stephen Hunt: The Ireland international sends Reina the wrong way. 1-0 Reading.
20 mins : The home side are well on top at the moment and Murty was unlucky not to make it two with a great shot from distance.
22 mins : Gerrard's cross from deep was missed by Sonko but Torres can't react in time to make it count.
23 mins : Reading have another corner. It's not the greatest start for Liverpool.
24 mins : An offside flag comes to our rescue and we can relieve the pressure.
26 mins : And another Reading corner. Steve Coppell's men are fired up.
28 mins : GOAL! Steven Gerrard: Torres feeds the ball into Steven Gerrard who slips the ball beyond Hahnemann to make it 1-1.
29 mins : We're back in business! Good old Stevie!
31 mins : Reading were looking really good at 1-0, but since the equaliser we have got our act together.
33 mins : Reading v Liverpool matches are never dull are they!?
35 mins : A great run by Torres is thwarted by some desperate Reading defending. It took three to stop him.
37 mins : A great ball from Gerrard puts Torres in but our mercurial Spaniard is well stopped by Sonko.
38 mins : There were a few half-hearted appeals for a penalty there... (BIAS REFEREE!)
39 mins : It's not been the easiest of first-halfs for our defence, but Jack Hobbs has done well.
40 mins : We are enjoying most of the ball now. Can we snatch the lead before half-time?
41 mins : Voronin flashes an effort wide of the near post after some adventurous play by Arbeloa.
42 mins : Another good effort from Voronin but the Reading stopper is alert enough to tip it round for a corner.
43 mins : The corner is cleared and it looks like it will be all-square at the interval.
45 mins : There will be a minimum of two minutes added time.
18:04 GMT : Half Time Reached
18:20 GMT : Second Half Begins
46 mins : Liverpool kick off the second period.
47 mins : The Reds are first to show and Torres' dangerous cross earns a corner.
48 mins : Hahnemann claims with Jack Hobbs lurking at the far post.
49 mins : Torres heads wide after good play from Crouch down the right. This is better Reds!
49 mins : Reading mount their first attack but Carra - as ever - is there.
51 mins : I meant to say earlier... I got eightof 10 in Steve Hunter's LFC quiz - not bad! (lol.)
53 mins : Riise's free-kick finds Hobbs in acres of room at the back post, but the youngster fires a great chance over the bar.
54 mins : It's all happening! Torres is down injured after Sonko appeared to drag him down in the box. (he's not being carded or whatsoever. pig)
55 mins : Fernando's okay. He's back on now but it was a bit of a scare for a minute there.
56 mins : A 30-yard free-kick from JAR is well saved by Hahnemann.
57 mins : Hobbs miskicks in the area from the resulting corner. It's a much better second-half display so far.
58 mins : Riise has had one or two great situations down the left but so far he has failed to get it beyond the first man.
58 mins : First Booking: Steven Gerrard: The skipper brings down the marauding Hunt.
59 mins : GOAL! Kevin Doyle: Doyle touches home a wicked free-kick to put Reading 2-1 up.
60 mins : Substitution: Harry Kewell for Fernando Torres:
63 mins : Riise smashes a shot way over after Voronin's corner was cleared into his path.
64 mins : Kevin Doyle goes close to putting Reading 3-1 up but his 25-yard strike flies just over Reina's crossbar.
65 mins : Stevie G flashes a majestic effort against the bar. The man is pure class.
66 mins : GOAL! James Harper: Harper races clear to round Reina and put Reading in the driving seat.
70 mins : Substitute Harry Kewell fires inches wide after great play between Crouch and Sissoko.
71 mins : Substitution: Ryan Babel for Jack Hobbs:
72 mins : Substitution: Ryan Babel for Steven Gerrard:
72 mins : A major mix-up! The fourth official held Hobbs' number up, but it is in fact Gerrard who has gone off.
73 mins : Rafa must be saving Stevie for Marseille. But it doesn't help our cause here. (benitez had given up already what)
74 mins : Carra fires the ball across the six yard box after a fine run but it is too far in front of Crouch.
75 mins : Reading are having all the luck. It looks like our unbeaten start in the Premier League could be over.
77 mins : How are we 3-1 down?
78 mins : We've dominated most of this but we just haven't had the breaks.
79 mins : Reading are preparing a sub.
80 mins : Substitution: Andre Bikey for Ibrihima Sonko:
82 mins : Substitution: Sami Hyypia for Jamie Carragher:
84 mins : Voronin puts a header over the bar and it sums up our day.
85 mins : We aren't giving up but time is running out.
86 mins : With Man Utd and Chelsea both winning this is not good.
88 mins : Substitution: Leroy Lita for Bobby Convey:
88 mins : Lita nearly gets in but Riise is across to clear.
89 mins : I'm lost for words. A gutting result at the start of a massive week.
90 mins : Crouch hits the post with a fine effort. Again, it sums up our day!
90 mins : There will be a minimum of four minutes added time.
90 mins : Kewell sends Babel through but again Reading survive.
90 mins : Substitution: Kalifa Cisse for Graeme Murty:
